
MHC was engaged to support the Department of Education develop its first research strategy.


NSW Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ), formerly the NSW Department of Family and Community Services, engaged MHC to work alongside them in an MHC-Client joint team to develop a research strategy. MHC managed the process to develop the strategy, co-designed its components, co-led the consultations and co-led the process to set priorities.


Led by Mary Haines, MHC co-designed and operationalised a governance and management framework and established a Project Management Office to support the NSW Health COVID-19 Research Program.



MHC worked with senior leaders across NSW Health to identify system priorities for research and develop guidance for research partnerships.


Led by Mary Haines, MHC built research capacity and provided quality assurance to support successful NGO grant recipients of the Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) Early Intervention Innovation Fund. MHC also provided strategic policy advice to the Ministry of Health on the scheme to help build the evidence base for early intervention models and ensure improved program delivery, services, results and outcomes.



MHC conducted a thorough strategic review of the Prevention Research Support Program for the Centre for Epidemiology and Evidence within the NSW Ministry of Health.


MHC was engaged by the Centre for Population Health to conduct an independent mid-point review of a large research program.


The Office for Health and Medical Research, NSW Health engaged MHC to assist with conducting an implementation review of the Translational Research Grants Scheme. This involved a review of research projects in the scheme, to assess their implementation readiness and any policy and practice impacts arising from the research.


MHC provided expert policy advice for the Translational Research Grant Scheme


MHC designed this framework, approved by the NSW Chief Health Officer and endorsed by all NSW Health Chief Executives, which is now considered a leading example for other states to follow.



MHC was engaged to develop a strategy model for clinical trials at the St Vincent’s Integrated Health Campus in Sydney, through stakeholder consultation and expert advice.



MHC worked with the Governing Council and Executive of this NHMRC Academic Health Research and Translation Centre on a strategic scoping exercise.




The design of an internal directory for the Office for Health and Medical Research within NSW Health.



MHC facilitated a strategic planning day to develop a new three-year plan for the Westmead Applied Research Centre that specialises in cardiometabolic and chronic conditions.




MHC was delighted to be involved in putting together the first research strategy for the South Eastern Sydney Local Health District.
