The Australian Government has engaged MHC and partners (The Sax Institute and Peter Ninnes) to conduct an evaluation of a program to improve the health systems responses to family and domestic violence.

MHC worked collaboratively with Cancer Institute NSW leaders to develop a Monitoring and Evaluation Plan for the NSW Cancer Plan 2022 – 2027.

MHC was engaged by the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ, previously Department of Family and Community Services) to support the large-scale complex evaluation of the Future Directions program.

In 2017 MHC developed a commissioning strategy and implementation plan for the evaluation. In 2019 MHC established and embedded an approach to evaluation governance and management including providing quality assurance for the Future Directions evaluation. Up to 2023 MHC has provided advice to FACSIAR the evaluation.

MHC worked alongside the Evidence and Evaluation Unit to provide strategic research and evaluation advice to the Ministry of Health.

Led by Mary Haines, MHC built research capacity and provided quality assurance to support successful NGO grant recipients of the Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) Early Intervention Innovation Fund. MHC also provided strategic policy advice to the Ministry of Health on the scheme to help build the evidence base for early intervention models and ensure improved program delivery, services, results and outcomes.
