Mary Haines

PhD, GAICD; Founder and Director of MHC

Mary has more than 20 years of experience in senior positions across the government, corporate, academic, and non-government sectors. Her expertise lies in policy, governance, strategy, implementation, research and evaluation in health and social policy. Mary has a depth of understanding of public policy and its wider context and extensive experience dealing with complex issues across the government, university and NGO sectors. Mary has held health senior executive service and board positions in the NSW Government and is currently an Adjunct Professor at the University of Sydney and was a Fulbright Scholar. In 2015, Mary founded MH Consulting Group (MHC), previously known as Mary Haines Consulting, where she remains Managing Director and is involved in all projects.

Simon Thomas

BPsych (Hons), BA

Simon has worked with MHC on many successful projects for government and university clients since 2018. Simon has nearly 20 years’ experience on projects in public and private organisations. This has included planning, implementing and reviewing programs and projects across NSW and Australian Government departments, and non-government organisations. Simon also has a strong interest in the development, implementation and review of strategic frameworks and governance arrangements across sectors such as health, transport, communities and justice and central government departments.

Ryan Romero

MPH, MPodMed, BHS (Hons I)

Ryan has worked with MHC since 2021 and has a wide-ranging role that ensures projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to a high standard. He is experienced in contract and project management, having successfully managed contracts and projects across the government, university and NGO sectors. In addition, he has experience in the development of monitoring and evaluation frameworks and plans, research grant schemes, research strategies, research priority setting, research partnership frameworks, and research methods. Ryan is also a qualified health clinician (Podiatrist).

Bea Brown

PhD, MSc, PGCE, BSc (Hons I)

Bea is an experienced program manager, and implementation and health services researcher. Bea has conducted a range of research, implementation and evaluation projects with MHC. She has worked on a range of collaborative projects involving clinicians, researchers, state-wide agencies, NSW Government health organisations, and consumer organisations. Bea has expertise in implementation, evaluation, research, and in the development of implementation and knowledge translation strategies, and prioritisation and evaluation frameworks.

Le Dung (Natalie) Diep

BN

Natalie has 3 years of consulting experience in governance, quality assurance, risk and finance. Natalie has previously worked as a nurse and healthcare interpreter (Vietnamese, Mandarin and Cantonese). She is currently working towards completing her Bachelor of Accounting.
